- A check in table will be set up inside the field house (entrance is on the northwest side of the building). Go there first.
Parking meters and regulations are strictly enforced on game days.

How:

Send email to Brian.Sproul@utah.edu with any problems/questions or concerns. We want to make this a great day for all!!!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

You'll arrive in your High School band uniform (whatever you'd wear for a performance).

You'll register behind/in (northwest side) the Spence Eccles Fieldhouse on Guardsman Way.

You'll be given a spot and instructions to 'march' part of the pregame show, then we'll rehearse it (trust me it's easy and you don't even have to know how to march).

After rehearsal, you'll go to the stadium and join the Marching Utes in Ute Walk and also enjoy the Tailgaters performance.

You'll return to the stadium for food - please bring money!

At 1:20pm, you'll enter the field via the Southeast gate and prepare for Pregame.

We will finish the Star Spangled Banner and you will have a chance to march the Block U as well as the tunnel for the team.

You'll return to the stands and sit with your like-section. Play as much as you'd like and enjoy your day!

FAQ

- TRANSPORTATION:

- Where should I drop my student off?

At the Spence-Eccles Field House on Guardsman Way. Check in will be inside the large warehouse-looking building. The entrance is on the northwest side of the building.

You will not be able to park or dropoff in any credential-controlled lots. Please don't ask; parking is very strict.

Where should I pick my student up?

Parking will be tough. I'd suggest that you meet them on the EAST side of Guardsman Way or another location TBD by you and your child.

How will I know my student is safe?

Each student will be in a small, manageable group supervised by an adult (guides). However, when it comes time to leave the guides are not going to walk EVERY student to their parents. If a student states, "My mom is here," they're going to believe them.

Your student will have to 'check-out' with their guide at the end of the day. If you don't anticipate your student functioning well in this environment, please reconsider having them participate in this event.

Can I pick my student up early?

Yes, but understand they will leave the stadium on their own. We will not walk them to you. They can 'check-out' from the stadium... but they will be on their own.

-OTHER STUFF:

- Do I have to have marching experience?

No, absolutely not.

- Do I have to have the music memorized?

No, but it will make your life easier and the day more enjoyable!

- What do we wear?

Wear your band uniform.

- Can I use one of University's instruments?

Probably not, plan on bringing your own... but if you get in a bind, let us know. If you play percussion and do not have access to marching drumline equipment, please let us know.

- What will we eat for lunch?

You should plan on eating in the concessions area of the south plaza.

- Do I have to stay the whole game?

No, you may leave whenever you wish after pregame. Just make sure you check-out with your guide.

- Are there tickets available for parents?

Yes! Contact the Athletic Ticket office at 801-581-UTIX for ticket information. Free or 'comped' tickets are NOT available through the Utah Marching Band or School of Music.

- Can parents just sit with the band?

No, you'll have to sit in your own seat; we will have limited space.

- Where do we park?

There are any number of pay-parking lots. I would encourage you, however, to use Trax.

- How do I get into the game without a ticket?

We will put your name on a list at the stadium. You'll show your photo ID and they'll stamp your hand. You just walk in after that!

- Are there any limitations?

Maybe? If you have questions, please ask. You MUST be at least 16 years of age to participate.

Print off the following tunes and bring them with you. You're welcome to play whenever we do! While you're here, you can look on with the Marching Utes and play some of our other tunes as well!
